Cock and balls

The prostate and the perineum

The prostate gland is rich in sensitive nerve endings and, from an evolutionary perspective, encourages sexual activity and the process of reproduction. It contributes to sexual pleasure and orgasm - helping to regulate the contraction of the gland when you cum (ejaculate) ... up the arse, over the face, down the throat, and so on.

The perineum in men is the skin area between the ball sack (scrotum) and the arse hole (anus). It protects:

  • the pelvic floor muscles (like a supportive sling for your internal organs)
  • blood vessels that supply your cock and balls
  • the nerves used to piss or have an erection

For example, when you try to stop the flow mid-piss, you're using these muscles. Exercises can also help strengthen them, much like you’d work out any other muscle group for better support and control.

While it’s an external part of the body, anatomically, it is positioned close to the prostate and they share nerve pathways. It’s a small, sensitive part of the body and can feel pleasurable when touched. Men can find that gentle massage and/ or rhythmic pressure (lube can help) on the perineum can produce sensations similar to direct prostate stimulation. When fucking, rhythmic movements and pressure on the perineum (body contact, friction, thrusting movements) can create pleasurable sensations for the person doing the fucking. We also tend to naturally tense our perineal muscles as we orgasm, heightening sensations. What's not to like.

Women have a perineum too. Slang terms for the perineum include: 'taint', 'gooch' and 'grundle' – a though we found many more.

We're so tempted to make some cheap crack about tops not wanting anything up their arses but our lips are sealed.
