Wellbeing is a concept that varies from person to person. It focuses not only on avoiding illness but also on thriving and living a fulfilling life.

Wellbeing is usually made up of

  • Physical wellbeing
    Maintaining a healthy body through proper nutrition, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and managing health conditions
  • Emotional wellbeing
    The ability to manage emotions effectively, experience positive feelings like happiness and contentment, and cope with stress
  • Mental wellbeing
    Cognitive health, including the ability to think clearly, learn, make decisions, and maintain focus. Good mental wellbeing also involves resilience to mental health challenges
  • Social wellbeing
    Healthy and supportive relationships with friends, family, and the broader community. Feeling connected and having a sense of belonging contribute to this dimension
  • Spiritual wellbeing
    A sense of purpose, meaning in life, and alignment with personal values, which may or may not be connected to religion or spirituality
  • Financial/ economic wellbeing
    Feeling secure and stable financially, having the means to meet basic needs and pursue personal goals
  • Environmental wellbeing
    Living in an environment that supports health and comfort, such as clean air, safe surroundings, and access to green spaces

    Relaxation techniques, therapy, or pursuing hobbies
  • Community engagement
    Volunteering, joining social groups, or participating in local initiatives

    Consulting healthcare professionals or therapists for mental and physical health concerns
